29 irregular migrants rescued off Turkey's Aegean coast

29 irregular migrants were rescued from a boat off the coast of the Ayvacık district of Turkey’s northwestern Çanakkale province, Turkish Coast Guard Command announced in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the boat carrying 29 irregular migrants was pushed back to Turkish territorial waters by Greek Coast Guard forces.

Turkey has traditionally been a major transit port for irregular immigrants to enter the European countries.
