61 kg of heroin seized in eastern Turkey

According to the statement, 61 kilograms of heroin were seized in a field in the Bakraçlı neighborhood of the district.

The operation is ongoing to nab the fugitive suspects, the officials said.

Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
