Iran’s coronavirus death toll rises to 63,884

Iran has reported 185 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 63,884, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.

After 22,586 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 2,006,934 in the country.

There are at least 4,221 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,684,570 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

So far, more than 13,412,327 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,904,338 with 133,843,560 cases and more than 107,919,747 recoveries. (ILKHA)
