Iran's death toll from Covid-19 rises by 94

Iran has reported 94 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 59,830, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.

After 8,206 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,607,081 in the country.

There are at least 3,712 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,372,308 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

So far, at least 10,616,717 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,510,807 with 113,191,956 cases and more than 88,796,321 recoveries. (ILKHA)
