Turkey’s milk production increases by % 4.6 in October, TurkStat says

The amount of collected cow's milk in October increased by 4.6% when compared to the same month of the previous year, Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said in a statement on Thursday.

In January-October period increased by 4% when compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the statement.

In October, the average fat rate of cow's milk collected by integrated dairies was 3.5%, the average rate of protein was 3.2%.

In October, drinking milk production by integrated dairies increased by 4% and became 133 thousand 44 tons when compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-October period, drinking milk production increased by 11.3% and became 1 million 333 thousand 904 tons when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In October, yoghurt production by integrated dairies decreasing by 2.2% and became 96 thousand 119 tons when compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-October period, decreased by 1.9% and became 939 thousand 809 tons when compared to the same period of the previous year.

In October, while mixed milk cheese (cheese production obtained from which includes sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) increasing by 60.1%, cream production increasing by 28%, skimmed milk powder production increasing by 9.3% and cheese production from cow's milk increasing by 8.7%, butter production decreased by 2.4%, whole milk powder production decreased by 7.7% and drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production decreased by 14.8% when compared to the same month of the previous year.  

According to the January-October period of the previous year, while whole milk powder production increasing by 10.9%, cheese production from cow's milk increasing by 10.1%, cream production increasing by 7.4%, butter production increasing by 6%, and skimmed milk powder production increasing by 5%, mixed milk cheese (Cheese production obtained from which includes sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) decreased by 5.9% and drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production decreased by 13.8%.
