Joseph Robinette Biden has become the 46th president of the United States, defeating Donald Trump as Pennsylvania put him over the top.
“America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not,” Biden tweeted.
“I will keep the faith that you have placed in me,” he added.
After defeating incumbent Donald Trump in the 2020 United States presidential election, he will be inaugurated as the 46th president in January 2021.
A member of the Democratic Party, Biden previously served as the 47th vice president from 2009 to 2017 and United States Senator for Delaware from 1973 to 2009. (ILKHA)
