29 irregular migrants apprehended in Turkey’s capital, police say

29 irregular migrants have been apprehended in the Çankaya and Gölbaşı district of Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, the Provincial Police Department said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, the irregular migrants, who were rounded up in Ankara over the past two days, are Afghan nationals.

The necessary procedures for the deportation of irregular migrants have been launched, the statement added.

Turkey has traditionally been a major transit port for irregular immigrants to enter the European countries.
