Iran's death toll from coronavirus mounts to 34,478

Iran has reported 365 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 34,478, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.

After 8,011 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 604,952 in the country.

There are at least 5,128 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 477,003 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

So far, more than 4,892,704 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,188,141 with 45,464,208 cases and more than 33,058,492 recoveries. (ILKHA)
