Coronavirus: Iran reports 4,103 new cases, 253 deaths in the last 24 hours

Iran has reported 253 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 30,123, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Saturday.

After 4,103 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 526,490 in the country.

There are at least 4,721 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 423,921 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

So far, more than 4,482,263 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,110,250 with 39,656,147 cases and more than 29,694,830 recoveries. (ILKHA)
