Azerbaijan, Armenia agree humanitarian ceasefire

Azerbaijani and Armenian sides have agreed to start substantive talks over Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday.

The negotiations will be spearheaded by the Organization for Cooperation and Security in Europe Minsk Group.

The ceasefire will start at noon on October 10, according to a document agreed upon by Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian foreign ministers in Moskova.

Heavy fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces erupted in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region on September 27.

At least 300 people, including many civilians, have been reported killed in the fighting. (ILKHA)
