Coronavirus: Iran reports 3,825 new cases, 211 deaths in the last 24 hours

Iran has reported 211 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 26,380, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.

After 3,825 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 461,044 in the country.

There are at least 4,121 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 383,000 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

So far, more than 4,043,130 have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.

According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,019,580 with 34,202,762 cases and more than 25,457,354 recoveries. (ILKHA)
