United States reports 355 new deaths due to new coronavirus over the past 24 hours

355 more people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 209,808, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 142,161 deaths, India with 96,468 deaths and Mexico with 76,603 deaths.

7,365,431 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 37,418 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Until now, at least 4,609,636 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

At least 105,401,706 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.

New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 490,860 confirmed cases, with at least 33,229 deaths.

According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 1,007,750 people across the world. (ILKHA)
