Following the tete-a-tete talks, Fahrettin Altun and Hikmet Hajiyev chaired the inter-delegation meeting participated by the high-level officials from the media outlets and communication institutions of the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Altun stated that both Turkey and Azerbaijan were faced with various threats to their vital interests and presence and that such attacks were directly against the Turkish nation and Turkish nationality.

Altun stated that they encountered the mentioned attacks not only militarily, but also that there were attempts of character assassinations and perception management operations against both Turkey and Azerbaijan.

“Will of solidarity reinforces fraternity”

Fahrettin Altun said that today Turkey and Azerbaijan acted under the motto "two states, one nation" just like in the past and that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan showed the entire world that such understanding was not merely composed of words.

Stating that there was a will at the level of leaders to further strengthen relations in all fields, especially in politics, economy, culture, and security, Altun added that the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between the administrations of the two countries in international and regional issues was also reflected on the reinforcement of feelings of fraternity between the peoples.

“We crowned our fraternity with an increase in cooperation in recent years. We aspire to build closer cooperation with Azerbaijan, particularly in every field that falls within the scope of the authority of the Directorate of Communications,” said Altun.

“We can win only if we are together”

Fahrettin Altun underlined that the two countries would sustain unity and solidarity at the highest level against the possibilities and challenges encountered in international and regional issues.

“In this atmosphere of chaos and turbulence where the international order is almost about to collapse and the new world order is yet to be established, as is the case in every other area, we can only win in the area of communications only if we are together,” Altun said and noted the following:

“We wish to turn the new partnerships, the foundations of which we laid during our President’s visits to Baku, into concrete steps. When the global conditions are taken into consideration, it will be clear that this is not a choice but an obligation. Since those who attack Turkey and Azerbaijan, who conduct disinformation and defamation campaigns against our state and who take aim at the lives and possessions of our citizens, are united; we too must be united, we must be bold and sharp.”

“We reached an agreement for Turkish-Azerbaijani Media Platform”

Underlining that enhancing cooperation in the fields of media, communications and public diplomacy between Turkey and Azerbaijan was a critical issue, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun said

that he believed that pleasing results would be attained by combining the capabilities and experiences of the two countries and expending joint efforts.

Stating that Turkey and Azerbaijan would conduct joint works on a wide spectrum ranging from the rapid spread of accurate information to national and international public opinion to the fight against information pollution, fabricated news, and disinformation, Altun said: “In this regard, we reached an agreement to establish Turkish-Azerbaijani Media Platform. We discussed on developing common strategies to enable the media in the two countries to act in an integrated manner, operating actively to inform the peoples, and the fight against false rumors fabricated prominently on social media and black propaganda coming from the outside world through this platform.”

Fahrettin Altun concluded by saying that the bilateral relations would be fortified through the contributions of public and private sector institutions to mutual content creation including on TV, radio, cinema, and digital platforms.

“Turkey’s achievements also please us”

Assistant to Azerbaijani President and Head of the Department for Foreign Policy Affairs of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said that Turkey and Azerbaijan sided by each other with the motto “two states, one nation” at all times and under all circumstances.

Hajiyev noted that the developments and achievements of Turkey in all areas ranging from economy to foreign policy also pleased Azerbaijan, adding, “Our goal is to further develop and strengthen our fraternity.”

Hajiyev stated that very important benefits would be gained from the close cooperation and coordination of the public and private sector institutions in the fields of media and communication in the two countries.

Hikmet Hajiyev indicated that they welcomed the strengthening of cooperation with Turkey through the common steps concerning co-productions in all areas from television to cinema, organization of professional training and exchange programs, technology and infrastructure sharing as well as the fight against black propaganda carried out against the two countries.
