The number of confirmed cases has reached 1,370,488, an increase of 25,234 cases in the last 24 hours.
Brazil is the country with the second-highest number of coronavirus-related deaths in the world.
Brazil also ranks second in the world in terms of total cases, behind the United States.
While at least 8,318 patients are being treated in intensive care units, more than 757,462 patients suffering from coronavirus have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
Sao Paulo, the country’s most-populated state, continues to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. The state has so far reported more than 275,145 confirmed coronavirus cases, with at least 14,398 deaths.
The country’s health ministry has distributed 6,410 ventilators to all states and the Federal District to strengthen hospital care in the fight against the pandemic.
“Brazilian Public Health already has the reinforcement of 6,410 ventilators delivered by the Government of Brazil, through the Ministry of Health, to assist in the care of patients with Covid-19. The equipment was delivered to all states and the Federal District. Only between June 22 and 29 were delivered 1,553 equipment,” the ministry said in a statement on Twitter.
“The purchase and distribution of pulmonary ventilators is part of the strategic support of the Brazilian government in assisting states,” it added. (ILKHA)
