Turkey: The number of coronavirus cases rises to 188,897

In a statement published on his Twitter account, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca shared the latest official coronavirus figures in the country.

According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 188,897, after 1,212 more people tested positive for the virus over the past 24 hours.

161,533 patients suffering from the disease have fully recovered from the infection and been discharged from hospital.

While 846 patients are being treated in intensive care units, there are some 345 patients who are mechanically ventilated. 

A total of 2,986,653 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted in the country. (ILKHA)
