Students have to wear masks before entering examination hall in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus. However, if they wish, they can remove their masks during the examination.

“The number of examination centers were increased to around 18,000 from 13,000 because we want the students to be comfortable,” said Ziya Selçuk, the country’s education minister.

At the same time, Turkey will impose limited curfews on weekends in June when high school and university admission exams are held, the health minister Fahrettin Koca announced on Thursday.

In Turkey, eight graders will take the High School Entrance System (LGS) exam on June 20 and the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) will be held in three sessions on June 27 and June 28.

Turkey has so far reported 184,031 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 4,882 deaths and 156,022 recoveries. (ILKHA)
