Coronavirus in US: The number of cases rises to 2,262,864

324 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours in the United States, rising the country’s death toll from the virus to 117,865, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 43,389 deaths, the United Kingdom with 41,698 deaths and Italy with 34,345 deaths.

2,166,529 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the United States, an increase of 19,687 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Until now, at least 870,077 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.

At least 24,827,229 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.

New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 404,470 confirmed cases, with at least 30,911 deaths.

According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 436,312 people across the world. (ILKHA)
