Migrant boat sinks off Tunisia: 39 dead

The boat carrying 53 migrants mostly from sub-Saharan Africa, left the Tunisian coast from the city of Sfax, aiming to reach Italy.

Although the accident took place on June 6 off the Kerkennah Islands, authorities were alerted on 9 June by fishermen who first spotted the floating bodies. (ILKHA)NTS
