At his meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Tueller, Al-Kadhimi confirmed on the necessity of bilateral collaboration and cooperation in the fields of economy, security, countering-terrorism, preparing for the strategic talks between the two countries, securing and stabilizing the arena to halt risks. He pointed out that Iraq won't be an arena for accounts settlement.
He asserted the need to maintain security and stability in the region, while reiterating that Iraq will not be a ground for settling accounts and launching attacks on any neighboring or friendly country, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Al-Kadhimi also received, in his Office at the governmental palace, Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi.
During the meeting, Al-Kadhimi confirmed Iraq keenness for establishing the best bilateral relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran and all neighboring countries for the benefit of neighboring people, security and the region stability, reaffirmed that Iraq won't be a corridor and garrison for terrorism or a springboard for aggression against any country neither an arena for settling accounts.
