Fatalities and the number of cases with coronavirus, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, and spread all over the world, continue to climb in the U.S.
The United States’ death toll from coronavirus pandemic has reached 40,690, an increase of 1,590 in the last 24 hours.
According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 32,000 new cases were confirmed with coronavirus, bringing the number of cases to 735,287 in the country.
The country has at least 653,740 active cases. Of those, 13,566 patients are being treated in intense care units.
71,253 people suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospital.
3,898,399 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted in the country.
The U.S. has the highest number of casualties from the pandemic, followed by Spain, Italy and France.
“I think, right now, we are heading at probably around 60,000, maybe 65,000 deaths,” said Friday the U.S President Donald Trump during the White House coronavirus task force news conference. (ILKHA)
