20 civilians killed in armed attack in Burkina Faso

The attack targeted a village in Bani municipality, north of the capital Ouagadougou.

No group has so far claimed responsibility.

Last week, 39 people were killed in an attack targeting a market place in Silgadji town.

4,000 people were killed and more than 600,000 people were forced to flee their homes in the attacks in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso in 2019, according to UN figures. (ILKHA)
