Domestic producer price index increases by 7.36% on annual basis in Turkey

Domestic producer price index increased by 7.36% on annual basis in Turkey in December 2019, the Turkish Statistical Instıtute (TurkStat) announced in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, Domestic producer price index increased by 0.69% on monthly basis, increased by 7.36% on December of the previous year basis, increased by 7.36% on same month of the previous year basis and increased by 17.56% on the twelve months moving averages basis in December 2019.

D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 13.31% for mining and stone quarrying, increased by 6.98% for manufacturing, increased by 12.43% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, decreased by 7.94% for water supply compared with the previous year.

 D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 0.54% for mining and stone quarrying, increased by 0.83% for manufacturing, decreased by 0.88% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, decreased by 0.59% for water supply compared with the previous month.

 The lowest annual increase in main industrial groupings was in intermediate goods by 4.27%

The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 4.27% for intermediate goods, increased by 7.25% for durable consumer goods, increased by 11.93% for non-durable consumer goods, increased by 9.02% for energy, increased by 8.09% for capital goods, annually.

 The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 0.70% for intermediate goods, decreased by 0.16% for durable consumer goods, increased by 1.24% for non-durable consumer goods, decreased by 0.01% for energy, increased by 0.42% for capital goods, monthly.

 The highest annual decrease was in water, water treatment and supply services by 7.94%

The highest rates of annual decrease in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for water, water treatment and supply services by 7.94%, for paper and paper products by 3.49%, for basic metals by 2.76%. On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by sub divisions of industry were for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 25.22%, for tobacco products by 25.17%, for other mining and quarrying products by 16.78%.

 The highest monthly decrease was in other transport equipment by 3.83%

The highest rates of monthly decrease in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were index for other transport equipment by 3.83% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 0.88%, for water; water treatment and supply services by 0.59%. On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by sub divisions of industry were tobacco products by 3.31%, for coke and refined petroleum products by 2.01%, for food products by 1.83%.
