In an interview with TOLOnews, Mujahid highlighted efforts to assure neighboring and regional nations of Afghanistan’s safety and its non-threatening stance. “We strive to ensure that countries have no doubts or concerns about Afghanistan. The Islamic Emirate has managed to convince many countries that Afghanistan is a safe place and that no threat emanates from Afghan soil towards other countries, including Tajikistan, which should feel assured in this regard,” he said.
Mujahid also pointed to improved relations with Tajikistan, underscoring the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to resolving any lingering doubts or insecurities.
Despite these diplomatic efforts, the Islamic Emirate remains unrecognized by any country since it assumed power in August 2021. This lack of formal recognition continues to pose challenges for Afghanistan’s integration into the global community.
While the interim government of Afghanistan claims progress in fostering relations, it faces ongoing international scrutiny. Observers note that deeper cooperation and tangible steps toward addressing global and regional concerns are essential to achieving broader recognition and sustained support. (ILKHA)
