12 Indian nationals die from carbon monoxide poisoning in Georgia

At least 12 Indian nationals lost their lives due to carbon monoxide poisoning at a ski resort in Gudauri, Georgian officials confirmed on Monday.

The victims, identified as employees of an Indian food restaurant in the resort, were found deceased on the second floor of the establishment.

The Indian Embassy in Georgia issued a statement, confirming their involvement in the situation:

"A Consular officer has reached Gudauri. The mission is in touch with the local authorities to get details of the Indian nationals who lost their lives."

Local media, citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that the initial inspection of the bodies revealed no signs of injuries or violence.

Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy. (ILKHA)
