In a statement issued on Friday, Hadi condemned the devastating impact of recent Israeli airstrikes, which have reportedly caused significant civilian casualties, including women and children. He stressed that civilians are bearing the brunt of the ongoing conflict, with lives and livelihoods being destroyed on an alarming scale.

Hadi also decried attacks on UN aid convoys, calling them “unacceptable” and highlighting the life-threatening risks these incidents pose to those relying on desperately needed humanitarian assistance.

“The destruction and disruption are undermining efforts to deliver vital aid to families in Gaza, many of whom have been left with nothing after enduring 14 months of war,” Hadi said.

The UN official reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting Palestinians and called for an immediate ceasefire to enable the safe delivery of aid. He urged the international community to take swift action to protect civilians and address the root causes of the conflict.

Hadi further emphasized the importance of adherence to international humanitarian law, calling on all parties to respect the principles of distinction, proportionality, and precaution in military actions.

The UN continues to work tirelessly to deliver life-saving aid in Gaza, despite the immense challenges on the ground, Hadi said, reiterating the need for global solidarity and cooperation to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
