The operations, codenamed Gürz-28, were carried out by Provincial Gendarmerie Commands in coordination with local prosecutor’s offices and the Gendarmerie General Command Anti-Terror Department. The provinces involved included Adıyaman, Ağrı, Antalya, Ardahan, Aydın, Batman, Bingöl, Bolu, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Elâzığ, Erzurum, Hakkari, Hatay, Gaziantep, Giresun, Iğdır, İstanbul, Manisa, Mardin, Mersin, Muğla, Muş, Kars, Kocaeli, Sivas, Siirt, Şanlıurfa, Şırnak, and Van.
On a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Yerlikaya said: “147 suspected members of the terrorist organization were captured in the operations organized by the Gendarmerie against the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG in 30 provinces over the past 10 days.”
The operations also led to the seizure of unlicensed pistols, shotguns, drugs, organizational documents, and digital materials, he added. (ILKHA)
