Local health authorities report that the death toll in Gaza has surged to 44,429 since the escalation of hostilities on October 7, 2023. More than 105,250 individuals have sustained injuries during the ongoing conflict, with women and children accounting for the majority of casualties.

Emergency services face significant challenges in accessing many of the affected areas. Numerous bodies remain trapped under rubble or scattered on roads, as Israeli forces reportedly continue to block ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching victims.

Despite increasing international calls for an immediate ceasefire, including a United Nations Security Council resolution and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide, the Israeli military campaign shows no signs of abating.

The strikes have exacerbated an already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, raising urgent concerns among global humanitarian organizations and governments over the plight of civilians in the besieged enclave.

As the crisis deepens, efforts to mediate a resolution remain stalled, with international actors reiterating appeals for restraint and protection of civilian lives. (ILKHA)
