The incident unfolded when a person opened fire on a police patrol operating in the area. Security forces were quickly deployed to the scene and located the shooter, who attempted to flee. As the shooter was pursued and surrounded, he reportedly opened fire on the security personnel, prompting them to apply the rules of engagement. The gunman was subsequently killed in the exchange of fire.

Earlier reports from Israeli media mentioned a separate security incident near the Israeli embassy in Amman, where a gunman fired for several minutes toward the embassy premises. The area around the embassy in the Rabieh district was heavily secured by Jordanian security forces after the gunfire was heard.

Jordanian authorities initiated a search for the suspect, confirming later that he had been killed. The situation was declared under control, and access to the embassy was secured.

This incident comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, with Israeli occupation forces continuing their aggression in Gaza and Lebanon, which has resulted in significant casualties over the past year. (ILKHA)
