The strike, described as a massacre by local sources, caused extensive damage to surrounding buildings. The resulting explosions were so powerful they were heard across a wide area, including Mount Lebanon and Saida, and reverberated throughout the capital city.

Eyewitnesses report Israeli drones hovering over Beirut without retreat, raising fears of further attacks. Civil defense teams continue search and rescue operations to recover victims from the rubble, facing immense challenges due to the extensive destruction.

Reports indicate the targeted area received no advance warning, leaving many residents trapped under the rubble as they slept. The lack of prior notice has drawn condemnation from local and international observers, as civilian areas have increasingly been caught in the crossfire of the escalating conflict.

This attack marks a sharp escalation in the ongoing hostilities, with Israeli forces intensifying their strikes on civilian infrastructure in Lebanon. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, and the casualty count is expected to rise as recovery teams sift through the debris.

Local and international calls for restraint have been mounting as the conflict increasingly takes a toll on civilians. (ILKHA)
