President Erdoğan meets with Brazilian President Lula da Silva at G20 Summit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, currently in Rio de Janeiro for the G20 Leaders’ Summit, met with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to discuss bilateral relations and various regional and global issues.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of high-level dialogue in enhancing relations between Türkiye and Brazil. He expressed a commitment to forging a strategic partnership between the two countries.

President Erdoğan praised Brazil’s stance against Israeli aggression and highlighted Türkiye’s initiative under the United Nations to prevent the sale of weapons and ammunition to Israel. He reiterated Türkiye’s dedication to establishing a permanent ceasefire in Palestine, ensuring uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the region, and achieving a just two-state solution.

Erdoğan also criticized the United Nations for its failure to avert conflicts worldwide, particularly in Gaza, and its insufficiency in addressing crises. He commended Brazil for raising the issue of “Global Governance Reform” during its G20 presidency. (ILKHA)
