Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan sign 19 agreements, strengthening bilateral ties in key sectors

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan held a joint press conference following the 6th meeting of the Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

Erdoğan highlighted the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, noting that Türkiye was the first country to recognize the Kyrgyz Republic 33 years ago. He emphasized that their bilateral meeting and the meeting between their delegations reviewed all aspects of their relations.

Erdoğan announced that with the document they had just signed, they had elevated their strategic partnership relations, established in 2011, to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. He mentioned that they had signed 19 agreements, including a joint declaration, in various areas such as security, energy, education, healthcare, and culture. Additionally, they discussed potential joint steps in the areas of security, the defense industry, and the fight against terror.

During the meeting, Erdoğan was also presented with the Manas Order by President Japarov. (ILKHA)
