In a statement released on Saturday, Hamas referred to the recent Israeli airstrike on a block of five buildings in Beit Lahia, which resulted in the deaths of at least 35 civilians, as “one of the ugliest images of genocide and forced displacement in modern times.”
The group criticized the international community for its inaction, stating, “The submission of the international community and its institutions to the criminal American will and their silence on the occupation army’s brutal attempts to force our people in the northern Gaza Strip to leave their land and homes make them historically responsible for the ongoing genocide against hundreds of thousands of our steadfast and resilient people.”
Hamas called on Arab and Islamic nations, as well as global advocates of freedom, to continue supporting the Palestinian cause in Gaza. The movement expressed confidence that the people of northern Gaza would ultimately overcome the Israeli offensive and thwart what they describe as the fascist occupation's criminal plots.
The recent airstrike in Beit Lahia is part of an ongoing series of attacks that have drawn widespread condemnation and raised alarms about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region. (ILKHA)
