During a parliamentary session on Sunday, Mohammad Reza Sabbaghian condemned what he described as the "cowardly aggression" of the Israeli regime, which he claimed was executed with the backing of the United States and European allies.
Sabbaghian emphasized the need for Iran to bolster its defense capabilities, stating: "In response to the aggressor Zionist regime and the United States, we must consider achieving the defense weapons that these aggressors and bullies possess. The defense and nuclear doctrine of our country should be revised."
The call for change comes after Israeli forces conducted airstrikes on multiple military sites across Iran, including in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam, on Saturday morning. The Iranian Air Defense Force reported that its integrated air defense system successfully countered the attack, which resulted in limited damage to several locations.
Despite these defensive measures, the Iranian Army confirmed the martyrdom of four servicemen during the assaults. The situation has escalated tensions in the region, prompting renewed calls within Iran for a stronger military stance against threats from Israel and its allies. (ILKHA)
