The center clarified that the incident involved an RPG-7 missile from ongoing fighting in Syria, which accidentally landed in a minefield on the border, igniting the fire. The Turkish Armed Forces were not involved in the conflict, the watchdog said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“There are no attacks on Turkish borders,” the center added, urging the public to rely solely on official statements and to disregard unverified information. The announcement aims to address and dispel rumors circulating about Türkiye's potential involvement in the border conflict. (ILKHA)
