Türkiye evacuates thousands from Lebanon

Türkiye has successfully evacuated thousands of foreign citizens from Lebanon amid ongoing unrest in the country.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of today, Türkiye has assisted 2,120 individuals from 21 different countries in reaching their homelands via air travel through Türkiye.

The countries benefiting from Türkiye's humanitarian efforts include Canada, the United States, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Argentina, Lebanon, Palestine, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Indonesia, Ireland, Spain, Serbia, Russia, France, Finland, Sweden, and Uzbekistan.

In addition to air evacuations, Türkiye has also deployed naval vessels to evacuate its own citizens and those of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) from Lebanon. A total of 966 people, including 878 Turkish citizens, 24 TRNC citizens, and their relatives, have been safely brought back to Türkiye by sea.

Türkiye's swift response and comprehensive evacuation efforts have been widely praised by the international community. The country's commitment to assisting those in need, regardless of their nationality, has further solidified its reputation as a humanitarian leader. (ILKHA)
