Rojin Kabaiş laid to rest in Diyarbakır after 18 days missing in Van

Kabaiş, a student of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University’s (YYÜ) Department of Preschool Teaching, disappeared on 27 September in Van. Her body was discovered on the shore of Lake Van, near the Mollakasım neighborhood in the Tuşba district, yesterday.

Following the autopsy at Van's Forensic Medicine Institution, Kabaiş’s body was handed over to her family. Her father, Nizamettin Kabaiş, along with relatives, transported the body to Diyarbakır by land.

The funeral took place at Yeniköy Cemetery in Diyarbakır’s Bağlar district, with prayers held at Yeniköy Mosque. The burial was attended by family members, relatives, and many local citizens who gathered to pay their respects to the young student.

The circumstances surrounding Kabaiş's disappearance and death remain under investigation. (ILKHA)
