According to a statement released by the ministry, the majority of casualties occurred in Gaza, where over 11,292 students have been killed and 17,965 injured. In the West Bank, 114 students lost their lives, and 591 were wounded in the ongoing violence.

In addition to the heavy student casualties, the ministry confirmed that 550 teachers and administrators were killed, and 3,717 others were injured in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The West Bank also saw 145 educational staff members detained.

The widespread destruction of educational infrastructure has also taken a devastating toll. In Gaza, 362 government schools, universities, and university buildings, as well as 65 UNRWA schools, were bombed or vandalized, with 124 suffering severe damage and 62 completely destroyed. In the West Bank, 84 schools and 7 universities were stormed and vandalized, while 133 government schools in Gaza have been used as shelters for displaced civilians.

The ministry also highlighted the grim impact on education, revealing that 718,000 students in Gaza remain unable to attend school or university, while most students are suffering from psychological trauma and deteriorating health conditions due to the ongoing conflict.

The report underscores the extensive loss of life and the profound disruption to the education system in Palestine amidst the continuing Israeli military aggression. (ILKHA)
