Ghalibaf’s visit comes ahead of his planned trip to Switzerland for the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting in Geneva. Speaking at Beirut’s airport, he stated that his visit was made at the invitation of Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and carried an important message from Iran's Supreme Leader and President to the people of Lebanon.

“I have traveled to Beirut to convey the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian president to the people of Lebanon and the Resistance,” Ghalibaf declared upon his arrival. His visit underscores Iran’s continued backing of Lebanon’s Resistance movement amidst ongoing regional tensions.

During his brief visit, Ghalibaf will meet with key Lebanese officials, including Speaker Nabih Berri, before departing for Geneva this evening. His talks are expected to center around Lebanon’s resistance efforts and its struggle against Israeli actions in the region.

Following his stop in Beirut, Ghalibaf is scheduled to attend the 49th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which will be held from October 13 to 17, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland. The Assembly will bring together parliamentary leaders from around the world to discuss key global issues.

Ghalibaf’s attendance at the IPU meeting highlights Iran's ongoing involvement in international diplomatic and legislative discussions, following his message of solidarity with Lebanon. (ILKHA)
