The meeting took place on the sidelines of the International Conference "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development."
The two leaders exchanged views on expanding economic and cultural relations between their countries. President Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction with the growing economic and cultural connections and emphasized the need for continued cooperation. He highlighted the complementary capacities of Iran and Russia and called for close alignment of their global stances.
President Pezeshkian also expressed hope for the swift finalization of a strategic partnership agreement, aiming to conclude the deal during the upcoming BRICS summit in Russia.
President Putin reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Iran and noted the positive development of mutual relations and increasing trade volume. He extended an invitation to President Pezeshkian to participate in the BRICS summit and suggested holding a bilateral meeting during the event.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of continued cooperation on the international stage and alignment of their stances. (ILKHA)
