The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released a statement on Friday detailing the positive growth in trade sales.

While the wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector saw a slight decline of 1.0% in August, both wholesale and retail trade sales witnessed individual increases. Wholesale trade sales rose by 3.1%, and retail trade sales surged by 13.3%.

On a monthly basis, trade sales volume increased by 2.9% in August compared to July. The wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector grew by 1.8% during this period, with wholesale trade sales up by 3.5% and retail trade sales by 2.2%.

The overall increase in trade sales volume indicates a positive trend in Türkiye's retail and wholesale sectors, suggesting a growing consumer demand and economic activity. (ILKHA)
