Turkish forces neutralize 13 PKK/YPG members in Syria and Iraq

The Turkish Defense Ministry announced today that 13 members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its Syrian affiliate, the People's Protection Units (YPG), have been neutralized in Syria and northern Iraq.

According to the Ministry’s statement, 11 PKK/YPG members were neutralized during Operation Claw-Lock in northern Iraq, while 2 others were eliminated in the Operation Peace Spring region of northern Syria.

The ministry emphasized the ongoing efforts of the Turkish Armed Forces to combat terrorism at its source, stating: "We will continue unpredictable, unconventional, rapid and continuous operations to destroy terrorism at its source."

The Turkish Armed Forces have been conducting operations in northern Iraq and Syria as part of their efforts to eliminate the PKK/YPG, groups Ankara designates as terrorist organizations, aiming to neutralize threats before they reach Turkish borders. (ILKHA)
