The attacks were confirmed by the Iraq-based resistance group in a statement issued on Sunday night.

According to the statement, the missile strikes were conducted in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and Lebanon, and in retaliation for the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli regime against civilians. The group vowed to continue its operations against the "Zionist enemy," pledging to target and dismantle Israeli strongholds.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has been escalating its military operations against Israel since the beginning of Israel's offensive on Gaza in early October. The group has also been targeting U.S. military bases in Iraq and neighboring Syria in response to Washington’s backing of Israeli actions in Gaza.

Israel's offensive, which has included airstrikes on hospitals, residences, and places of worship in Gaza, followed the launch of the Palestinian Resistance’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7, further intensifying the conflict. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq stated that its actions will continue as part of the broader resistance movement against Israeli and U.S. forces in the region. (ILKHA)
