Mikati's statement, issued by his press office while he attended the United Nations General Assembly in New York, came as the United States and other countries called for a 21-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

The latest Israeli strikes targeted the Dahiyeh suburb of southern Beirut, specifically the Haret Hreik district, where four buildings were destroyed. Rescuers are currently working to evacuate the wounded and transport them to nearby hospitals. Civil defense teams are also battling multiple fires that have broken out in the area as a result of the strikes.

The ongoing Israeli aggression has raised concerns about further escalation, with the international community urging immediate measures to prevent further civilian casualties. (ILKHA)
