Erdoğan and Iraqi PM Al Sudani discuss bilateral relations and regional issues in New York

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, currently in New York for the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani at the Turkish House to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

The leaders assessed the current state of relations between Türkiye and Iraq, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two neighboring nations. President Erdoğan highlighted the significance of the "Development Path" project, noting that its successful implementation would not only benefit Türkiye and Iraq but also have positive impacts on the broader region.

On the topic of security, Erdoğan underlined the necessity of enhanced cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism, stressing that it is crucial to maintaining stability in the region.

President Erdoğan also addressed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, particularly Israel's actions in Palestinian territories. He called for greater solidarity within the international community to prevent Israel from escalating tensions and spreading conflict across the region. Erdoğan stated that Israel would ultimately be held accountable for its actions and the ongoing massacres in Palestine.
