The ministry declared that it will not receive the remains until Israel provides full data, including names, cause of death, and details of where the individuals were taken from.

In a statement, the ministry said: “A container carrying approximately 88 bodies arrived without any identification or documentation of the deceased. Until all necessary data and documents are provided, we have halted the process of receiving the remains.”

Since the onset of the assault in October 2023, the Israeli military has carried out extensive ground operations in Gaza, resulting in the extrajudicial killing of civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. After Israeli forces withdrew from several areas, bodies were discovered bearing signs of torture and decomposition, some with their hands and feet bound. Many of the victims’ remains had been taken to unknown locations.

Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the incident, calling the delivery of unidentifiable bodies an “inhumane and criminal act” and demanding accountability for the victims and their families. (ILKHA)
