Indonesia donates ambulances to Afghan Red Crescent Society

The Government of Indonesia has officially handed over three ambulances and 30 Land Cruisers to the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS), reinforcing its commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s humanitarian efforts.

Hafiz Azizur Rahman, Deputy of ARCS, expressed profound gratitude to Indonesia for its timely and critical assistance. He emphasized that the vehicles will play a vital role in addressing the urgent needs of vulnerable and disaster-affected communities in Afghanistan. The donated ambulances and Land Cruisers will be dispatched to Herat province to enhance humanitarian operations on the ground.

Indonesian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Budi Rachmat Suryasaputra, reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong diplomatic ties with Afghanistan, pledging continued support during these challenging times. He highlighted Indonesia’s dedication to assisting Afghanistan in its humanitarian mission.

Nisfiyur Magandi, the representative of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Afghanistan, praised Indonesia’s contribution. He noted that the country has provided $300,000 in aid to Afghanistan since the beginning of the year, supporting various sectors. Magandi also expressed optimism about future cooperation to further strengthen ARCS’s efforts across the country.

The vehicles are expected to significantly enhance ARCS’s ability to respond to crises and improve the delivery of essential services to those in need. (ILKHA)
