The meeting was part of Pezeshkian's visit to Iraq aimed at strengthening ties between the neighboring countries.
Pezeshkian emphasized that unity among Muslims of all faiths and beliefs is crucial in countering threats, specifically mentioning that a united front would prevent the Zionist regime from committing atrocities. He referred to the teachings of the Holy Quran, stating that the "right path" Muslims seek in their prayers is one of unity.
“By standing together, our economy will grow, our culture will be strengthened, and we can exchange science and technology,” Pezeshkian remarked, stressing the importance of solidarity in overcoming challenges. He also warned that any voice inciting division among Muslims is a "satanic message" aimed at sowing discord.
In addition to calling for unity, the Iranian president highlighted his commitment to completing the Shalamche-Basra railway project, which will link Iran and Iraq’s railroad networks. He reaffirmed his dedication to any measures that would foster closer cooperation and integration between the two nations. (ILKHA)
