The detonation of a device concealed within a gift package was the cause of the incident in the Salamiyat area of Shu’ala. It was transported to a citizen who was awaiting its arrival near a military checkpoint via a tuk-tuk delivery service.

A soldier at the military checkpoint and the driver were killed immediately as a consequence of the explosive detonating upon being unsealed. The person who was the delivery intended for and another soldier were injured.

Authorities are treating the matter as a criminal act, not terrorism. Lieutenant General Al-Tamimi underscored that the incident was not motivated by any terrorist agenda, but rather by personal issues. He assured public that the incident is under investigation and perpetrators will be brought to justice. (ILKHA)
