The decision, he stated, was made in accordance with the requirements of the British authorities.

The closure comes amidst ongoing disputes over the control of Afghan embassies in Western countries. The Islamic Emirate's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has previously sent letters to several countries, including those in Europe, Canada, and Australia, declaring the consular services of embassies run by diplomats from the former Afghan government as invalid.

In Germany, the government has urged the Afghan Embassy in Berlin to engage with the Taliban and resolve the issue. However, a group of Afghan citizens recently protested outside the German Foreign Ministry, opposing any potential diplomatic engagement with the Islamic Emirate.

Several European countries are expected to discuss the fate of Afghan embassies on the continent during a special meeting on September 28th. Afghan citizens hope that any engagement with the Islamic Emirate will prioritize human rights concerns within Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
