According to the ministry's daily update, the "Central" Group of Russian forces successfully captured Kalinovo in the Donetsk People's Republic, repelling seven Ukrainian counterattacks in the process.
The report highlights that approximately 1,965 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the past 24 hours across multiple fronts, marking a significant escalation in casualties. In the Donetsk region alone, around 470 Ukrainian troops were reportedly killed in battles with Russian forces. The "Northern" Group of Russian troops also claimed responsibility for inflicting over 65 Ukrainian losses in the Kharkov region.
Russian forces, particularly the "Western" Group, have gained tactical advantages by striking Ukrainian military positions in Kharkov, Lugansk, and Donetsk. According to the report, approximately 450 Ukrainian troops were killed in these areas, and five ammunition depots, as well as various military equipment, were destroyed.
The "Southern" Group has continued its offensive against Ukrainian forces, including foreign legion units and several battalions, in the Donetsk region. Russian authorities estimate that about 810 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in this sector.
The situation on the ground remains fluid, with Russian forces pushing forward while Ukraine attempts to resist and regroup amid heavy casualties. Both sides continue to engage in intense fighting as the conflict escalates in eastern Ukraine. (ILKHA)
